Breast Feeding Assessments And Counselling
Breastfeeding is fundamental to the health development of children, and important for the health of their mothers as well as mother-child bonding/psychological well-being. However, even mothers who initiate breastfeeding satisfactorily often start complementary feeds or stop breastfeeding within a few weeks of delivery. The factors related to these need to addressed thoroughly and sensitively.
The newborn’s preparedness and the need to apply individualized positioning and attachment techniques will make breastfeeding effective, easier for mother and child, enjoyable, healthy and painless for mother. The key is presenting early to the pediatricians/ breastfeeding and child nutrition counselor. Many mothers expressed their happiness and satisfaction with our breastfeeding consultation.
